»Windward« | The terrain alteration options

Terrain generation can be altered via the world’s config file.

Please note that manipulating the main configuration file will affect all existing regions as well, so it is ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR A NEWLY GENERATED WORLD MAP PRIOR GOING ONLINE !

Add any of the following codes at the bottom to the world.dat.config file.

Just puzzle out the prefered visual formation [in single player mode] before you set the world on a public server or for private server purposes online.

terrainHeight
Defines the height of the terrain. Default is 16, meaning the terrain’s highest point will be 16 units above its lowest point.

terrainOffset
Defines the terrain’s vertical offset. Default is -7.5, meaning the terrain’s lowest point will be 7.5 units below sea level.

terrainRoughness
Defines how rough the terrain will be. Default is 1. Lower value will result in a smoother terrain. Higher value will result in a jagged, uneven terrain.

world.dat.config

The default terrain and roughness

terrainHeight = 16
terrainOffs = -7.5
terrainRoughness = 1

Altered terrain height only

terrainHeight = 20 (higher terrain, gain of landmass)
terrainOffs = -7.5
terrainRoughness = 1

Altered terrain offset only

terrainHeight = 16
terrainOffs = -100 (compared to the default the max. water depth has changed)
terrainRoughness = 1

Altered terrain roughness only

terrainHeight = 16
terrainOffs = -7.5
terrainRoughness = 0.25 (smoother terrain, loss of landmass)

Terrain height and roughness altered togehter

terrainHeight = 20
terrainOffs = -7.5
terrainRoughness = 2 (higher terrain, gain of landmass, not really recommended)
